'Published Admissions Number' Reduction

Grange Park Infant & Nursery School and Grange Park Junior School are working in partnership for the benefit of our local community.  We would therefore ask all our parents/carers to note the following:

We want to update parents about the size of the schools. Many of our year groups now have three classes of around 30 pupils close to 90 in each year, but we still have a legal Published Admissions Number of 120 pupils into Reception and in to Year 3.

Governors and Hillingdon Council officers consider it may be sensible to formally reduce both the Reception and Year 3 admissions to 90 in future to better match the need. This move will help the school to plan teachers and classes for pupils and focus our resources on our pupils to best serve local families.  In this way we can ensure the best possible outcomes for all our pupils.

Please note this will not change anything for pupils and parents at the school or for siblings or other local families wishing to join the school in future. If agreed, this would start from September 2024 Reception and Year 3 intakes. Grange Park Junior School propose to do the same reducing from four form entry to three form entry from September 2024.

The final decision will be taken in September after the new year has begun. If we want to change the legal admissions number we will have a formal consultation with an opportunity for parents to see the plans and comment – including a short on-line survey.

Meanwhile if you have any questions please speak to the Head Teacher or email colleagues at Hillingdon on schoolplaceplanning@hillingdon.gov.uk who will then email you or if you wish, phone you back.
